First Myofascial Therapy Appointment: What Do You Need to Bring?
Myofascial release requires treatment directly on the skin. Please wear or bring clothes that will allow for accessibility to your entire body; shorts, tank tops and or sports bras for women. Please also abstain from wearing any oils, lotions, or make-up as this makes it difficulty to treat the needed tissues.
What Should You Expect for Subsequent Myofascial Therapy Visits?
Your treatment session will depend on the findings of the initial examination, but may include; joint mobilization and soft tissue work as appropriate. Goals will be regularly assessed, as well as, re-evaluation of strength, range of motion, etc.
How Long Does Myofascial Therapy Take?
The benefit of providing one-on-one care is that each person’s issue is based on his or her presentation. While it may depend on the length of time the issue has been present, providing tailored treatment and education to each patient allows for much shorter treatment plans. The sooner something is assessed and treated, the faster the recovery and return to health.
